Leaving on Vacation
HOOT digs cat things. We support our cats going on vacation as long as they come back, you know.

And it’s pretty awesome. Don’t you think?
This week’s written piece, entitled “No More Astronauts,” is by Adam Loomis.
And yours truly (aka James) did the background art! Look at that, school-art teachers— I told you I’d be published someday.

HOOTs on the go with Janie! Our fantastic designs go with everything, including tacky rainbow seats (…almost).

HOOT! It loves to be shared (that’s why it’s on a postcard and not in a huge tome of a journal that’s too heavy to stick to a wall)!
Take, for instance, this lovely photograph that Janie took at the New York Public Library Photo Exhibit! We are all doing art together! Guerrilla museum-ing!

P.s. Want to send a picture to info@hootreview.com and see it/have it credited on the Tumblr? Have you shared your HOOT somewhere exciting and different?

The postcard is a great neglected literary form about fifty words in length.

Happy Postcard Week, y’all!
Check out this adorable postcard to you, our HOOT fans, from Janie, our super fantastic intern! The other half of me! The more organized/motivated/covered-in-cat-hair version of me!
Love it? I do!
You can find Janie on You Life Is Not So Great, where she writes about depressingly hilarious things that are often less cute than this owl but funny enough to have her come up immediately on my google search bar when I typed in “You life.” Because she is a celeb.
What do you guys think about doing a fan appreciation postcard? That we can add to our newsletter and post on Tumblr and give you recognition for?

We at HOOT hope you get your mailings from us in a more timely manner!
(Amanda made fun of me for suggesting that she do something in a “timely manner,” so I decided to use that in a blog post to pretend that it was a casual phrase and not something I’m forced to use in my job every day).
